Child Of Another

acrylic on canvas

Born in China, adopted and brought to the US by a family who bore no resemblance to her or of the culture she would never fully know. Given a name from the country she would grow up in and yet not fit the image of that name. The story of how she came to be in an orphanage will probably never be known fully. Is heritage important? Does culture matter? Or does the fact that one is loved beyond all measure mean more? The answers may find their way home, yet some questions will remain forever a mystery. What is known, is that love binds us and provides a home where the heart can rest during the journey.
